WE DID IT!!

Claire and I made it through our first week at home by ourselves. Kyle had gone back to work last week, but my mom was here helping out. She helped us so much and I was so sad when she had to go. But, I knew I had to face the new week ahead.

Monday and Tuesday were kind of rough. By Wednesday, I had to get out of the house, so Claire and I went to Target. I was nervous getting out by myself, but I really wanted to try. We shopped for about 10 minutes and then Claire started screaming. It was horrible! Every person that I walked past looked at me and said, "aww", like, "I feel so sorry for you." That was the day that I learned how to carry a newborn with one hand and push a shopping cart with the other. Eventhough Claire didn't enjoy the trip too much, it was nice to get out. The rest of the week was so much better. Claire wasn't sleeping during the day, so it was hard to be at home and not be able to put her down. Well, I called the dr. for some tips on getting her to sleep and sure enough, they worked! So now she is taking naps.

Everyone kept telling me that it gets easier when you hit the 3 week mark, and I really feel like it did. I am really enjoying getting to be Claire's mommy, I can't believe she will be a month old next week...she's growing up so fast ; )

Baby Claire is Here!!

CLAIRE IS HERE! She was born on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. She weighed 8 pounds, 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. She is such a precious gift, we just adore her. She makes the cutest little faces. The doctor and all of the books say she can't smile, but I think she can (moms, you know what I'm talking about). She is just precious when she smiles and it makes your heart melt, even at 3 am!

FINALLY!

Okay, so I am finally getting up to speed on the 21st century and blogging. I have been wanting to do this for so long, but I kept putting it off. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this blogging thing. My intention is for all of you to keep up with all of the wonderful things Claire is up to. Here are few pics of the nursery and right before we left for the hospital....YIKES, I think she was ready to come out!!
