Kennon and John at the "Cheese Fountain." For his graduation party he had some of his favorite foods and thought it'd be cool to have a cheese fountain. It was apparently a big hit!

It's been a while....

We have been SO busy!!! A lot has been going on and I just haven't had a free moment to post.

My grandfather, Don Wigley (aka Grandad), passed away on October 15. We all miss him so very much! One of his greatest qualities was his humor. Grandad always had a joke for you and liked to make us all laugh, as he enjoyed a good laugh himself. My grandfather was very special. He was a role model to many and so enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren find success. We miss you, Grandad.

We had wood floors put in the house. For about a month we lived on concrete, though. They came to install the floors and ripped up all of our carpet. They began prepping the floor and realized that our slab was so uneven they could not put down the wood. We were stuck with dirty, dusty concrete. We were able (GO KYLE!!) to get DR Horton to come out and fix the floors. 1 month later, we got our floors. That was a tough time, but they look great and we love them!

My sister, Melissa, got married. She had a beautiful wedding in Bellville. I can't believe my LITTLE sister is now someone's wife, weird! She was so pretty and SO happy!! I am so proud of her.

Claire is 9 months today. She has 2 bottom teeth and is crawling everywhere and starting to pull up!! She is so grown up. She eats finger foods and drinks out of a sippy cup. Where did the time go? I know this is going to sound crazy, but I really think she is trying to say, "Puppy." She loves dogs. The other day we were sitting in the kitchen and we heard some dogs barking. She stopped what she was doing and looked for the dogs. I said, "Did you hear a puppy?" And she said, 'pup, pup, pup...puppa." Then, her babysitter has a dog named Muffin and today the sitter said, "I think I heard Claire trying to say Muffin today. Later, Claire and I went for a walk and we heard dogs barking and she said, "Muff." It may all be a coincidence, as an SLP I am quite skeptical that she could be talking this soon, but it is as if she is beginning to attach meaning.....smart little girl (I know, all parents think their own kids are geniuses).

Excited and still optimistic that the Aggies will win...

After the Aggies lost, no surprise there, though!

BOO!! Here's claire's costume...we decided not to get here a real costume this year. Melissa (my sister ) is getting married on the 1st and the rehearsal is on the 31st. I thought it mught be kind of strange for Claire to show up at a nice dinner dressed as a chicken (that's what she was gonna be). we found this little onesie and thought it would do. We went to a little fall festival this afternoon with Isaac, Lindsay, and Addie, so Claire got to wear her little "costume."

Bath Time Fun!!

A little preview...

Here is a little preview of Claire's "6 month" (almost 7 months) pics. We had a photographer come out to the house on Saturday to take some pictures. I think they are going to turn out so cute. After she left, we took a few with our camera and they turned out really good as well. I was a little hesitant to share these pictures so I didn't ruin the surprise of her professional pics, but I just couldn't resist. This is a bonnet that my mom made for me when I was a baby.

6 Months old...

YAY! Claire is 6 months old. We went to the dr. and she is 17.5 lbs and 28 inches long. The dr. said if she keeps going on this growth curve she will probably be about 5'10". She is so much fun. She is 'talking" up a storm and she can sit up and play, which she loves. She had her first little stomach bug this week. It was so sad, I could tell she was just miserable, she just wasn't herself. Oh, and the biggest news ever....I can put little clippie bows in her hair now!!! They actually stay in her hair for a significant amount of time, it is super cute.

Home Sweet Home

We hadn't been home in what seemed like months. My mom and Mike came up to Fort Worth to help us take care of Claire while Kyle and I fixed up our yard (it was in contention for the "WORST yard of the month"). Anyway, Kyle and I ended up hiring a crew to work in the yard, there was just way too much work. They did a great job and it looks MUCH better. Also, I got on this porch swing kick and decided that we HAD to have one. Well, Mike was at Lowes and was able to get a good deal on one from the guy there, normally a $150 swing and he got it for $50....hhhmmm....Well, we got our porch all cleaned off and got the new swing up. I went and sat on it, with Claire, and felt a little flimsy. So we took some pictures of us on it, posing and looking so happy. Then my mom says, "Kyle, go sit on it with them." Kyle sits and CRACK, the swing totally breaks and we all go flying backwards, luckily we didn't hit the ground. It was really scary, and then really funny afterwards. I only wish we had taken a picture of the swing after it had broken. Needless to say, we went out and bought a new swing. It looks great and Claire loves swinging on it. I'm still a little nervous when I first sit down each time =)

Lakehouse Weekend

Kyle, Claire and I went down to Livingston for the weekend (a couple of weeks ago, I know it's been a while since i have posted). We had a great time and really enjoyed it.

Here's something I never thought would happen...

A very sleepy little girl. She fell asleep right in the middle of a spoonful of green beans. She tried so hard to keep her eyes open...Oh man, I should have video taped it.

5 months old with Chickenpox

Claire is now 5 months old. She is getting so big. She weighs 16 lbs, 12 oz. She is really developing a little personality. She can be pretty feisty at times, but is usually so happy. It is so cute when Kyle and I walk into a room and she just lights up. What a great feeling!! It is getting easier to make her laugh, but we usually have to work pretty hard at it. She is definitely a comedy snob. In addition to rice cereal (with bananas), Claire is eating peas, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and now baby applesauce. She is NOT a pea fan, but she seems to really like carrots.

And about the Chickenpox....We were in Savannah and noticed Claire had what we thought was a bite on the back of her neck. A few days later she woke up with "bites" all over her. On her head, legs, and diaper area. When we got back into town we went to the dr. and he said it was definitely Chickenpox. They really don't seem to bother her at all. She hasn't had any fever or doesn't seem itchy. I'm actually kind of glad she got them now, that's 2 less vaccines later.

Traveling Baby

Claire went on another vacation. This time she went to Savannah, GA with Kyle's whole family. We had a great time. She went swimming in the pool and hung out at the beach. Kyle's cousin's kids, Paul & Jeremiah, were so sweet with Claire and they seemed to LOVE spending time with her. They worked so hard at making her laugh and it was fun to watch them with her.

4 Months Old

YAY!! Claire is 4 months old. Again, it has gone by so fast. She is laughing, rolling over, sitting up with help, wanting to stand all of the time, and the list goes on. She is now about 14.8 pounds and 26 inches long. I was running out of things for Claire to do while she was on her back. So, Kyle and I went to Babies R Us to buy one of those big toy bar/gym things (the one in the picture with Kyle below) that sits over the baby while they are on their backs. We spent 30 minutes trying to decide which one was the best (they were pretty much the same, but you know, new parents). Anyway, we got it home and Claire loved it, she played under it for quite some time that afternoon. The next day she figured out how to roll over and now we can't keep her on her back. Needless to say, the perfectly picked toy is no longer useful at this time. It lasted for about 24 hours. She does not want to stay on her back to play with it. It figures! Now that she knows how to roll over, she wants to do it over and over again. She is SO CUTE!

We got the go ahead from the doctor to start solids. Claire LOVES rice cereal. She looks like an alligator going after food. She attacks the spoon. She cries or gets fussy if we don't go fast enough. I can't wait to start giving her veggies and fruits. For a kid who absolutely hates the bottle, we were so surprised how well she is doing with solids...YAY! (Don't laugh at my outfit, I was feeling comfortable...I know, it's really bad).
